1. Who We Are

Guardfather Security is a trading name of SafeQuote Ltd (Company No. 15892478), registered in England and Wales.

We operate the website guardfather.co.uk and sell home security products directly to consumers in the United Kingdom.

For all data protection enquiries, please contact us at: support@guardfather.co.uk

2. What Data We Collect

When you purchase from us or interact with our website, we may collect the following personal data:

  • Identity data: first name, last name
  • Contact data: email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number. If you leave a number on our contact form we use it only to call you back about your enquiry, and to take your order over the phone if you ask us to. We never sell it, never share it for marketing and never use it for cold calls or text marketing.
  • Delivery data: delivery address (address line 1, town/city, postcode, country)
  • Transaction data: details of products purchased, order value, order number, payment status
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time on site (via analytics and advertising cookies, subject to your consent)
  • Marketing data: your preferences regarding marketing communications
  • Quiz data: answers to the System Builder quiz (property type, door/room counts, feature preferences). If you ask us to email you your recommendation, we store your email address together with those answers and the recommended system so we can send it to you and understand which recommendations lead to orders. We only send you further marketing emails if you tick the box to opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not collect or store payment card data. All card processing is handled securely by Stripe, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.

3. How We Collect Your Data

  • Direct interactions: when you place an order, submit an enquiry, or use the System Builder quiz
  • Automated technologies: analytics cookies and similar technologies (with your consent) when you browse our website
  • Third parties: Stripe (payment processing), Google Analytics (website analytics, with consent)

4. Why We Use Your Data (Legal Bases)

We process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: to process your order, fulfil delivery, and provide post-purchase support
  • Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud, maintain the security of our systems, and analyse website performance to improve our service
  • Consent: to send marketing communications (where you have opted in) and to use analytics cookies
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws, including tax and accounting obligations

5. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Process and fulfil your order
  • Send order confirmation and dispatch notifications
  • Provide customer support
  • Prevent and detect fraud
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Improve our website and product offering (using aggregated, anonymised analytics data)
  • Send you marketing communications about our products and offers, where you have given consent or where we have a legitimate interest to do so (you can opt out at any time)

6. Who We Share Your Data With

We share your data only where necessary and with appropriate safeguards:

  • Stripe: payment processing — your card data goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers
  • Royal Mail / delivery carriers: your name and delivery address, solely to fulfil your order
  • Google Analytics & Google advertising services: website usage data (subject to your cookie consent). We use Google Analytics advertising features, including Google Signals and remarketing audiences — see the 'Advertising and Remarketing' section below.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery service (order confirmations)
  • Google Sheets: internal order management (data is stored securely within our own Google Workspace)

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data for third-party marketing purposes.

7. Advertising and Remarketing

With your consent, we use Google Analytics advertising features, including Google Signals and remarketing audiences. This means:

  • We may show our ads on Google Search to people who have previously visited our website.
  • Google may associate your visit to our site with your Google account if you are signed in and have Ads Personalisation enabled in your Google settings. This association happens on Google's systems — we never see your identity, and audience data is only ever visible to us in aggregated form.
  • We do not use this data for any purpose other than advertising our own products.

You can opt out at any time by: rejecting or changing your cookie preferences on our site; visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com; or installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

8. International Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers (including Stripe and Google) may process data outside the UK and EEA. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or equivalent standard contractual clauses.

9. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Order data: retained for 7 years from the date of purchase (required for VAT and accounting obligations)
  • Support correspondence: retained for 3 years from the date of the last interaction
  • Marketing data: retained until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe
  • Analytics data: retained in aggregated/anonymised form as configured within Google Analytics (typically 14 months)

10. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
